Dear Passengers:
Due to the continuing uncertainties and restrictions in place regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Leatherstocking Railway Historical Society has decided to not set up an initial schedule of trains for the 2021 Season. We are hoping, however, that the Pandemic will have subsided to a point where we will be able to schedule Fall Foliage and Christmas Trains later this year. If we are able to do so, we will post the availability of those trains on our website, www.cooperstowntrain.com, and on our Facebook page, cacv.rr. Meanwhile, we are offering three other ways to enjoy our Railroad.
The first is Caboose Charters, where up to ten (10) passengers can take a 2 1/2 hour ride in one of our vintage Cabooses, traveling along the beautiful Upper Susquehanna River Valley. Snacks and water are included in your ticket price, and you are welcome to bring your own food for the trip. The cost for these Charters is $375. The second is our Guest Engineer Program, where participants get to operate one of our Alco Diesel Locomotives for two hours under the watchful eye of one of our qualified Engineers. It’s perfect for anyone who always wanted to be a locomotive engineer, or just loves trains! The cost for this service is $375, and due to regulations you must be 18 years or older to participate. The third is the start of Rail Bike Operations by Rail Explorers USA, starting May 29, 2021. This is an up close way to enjoy our Railroad and the beautiful scenery it traverses. To make a reservation please visit www.railexplorers.net or call 1-877-833-8588.
